If you don't like the art then keep walking

Sun Feb 1, 2009, 10:30 AM
So recently a few comments were made about the artwork here. I rebuttled (is that even a word?) that I must have wasted the last 16 years doing pro work, to which they responded that I did. They then went on to comment:

"also, what if i were stan lee posting under a secret account to crit people? just... what if "

I don't really care who you are, or might be. Stan Lee, Jim Lee, Mark Silvestri, Jack Kirby ect. I don't care if you like the artwork. I didn't draw it for them, I drew most of it for myself and then the rest for my 25 fans:) I've already worked for Marvel, I drew FF and the X-men... and Stan Lee isn't even in charge over there anymore... idiot.

I cruise DA looking at art. I rarely comment on any of it. If I don't like it I simply move on. Art is subjective and what you might like others might not. So what's the point of basically commenting that something basically 'sucks'? Seems like a waste of time unless your trying to get a rise out of me, sometimes it's fun to play along but this week I'm tired to I simply blocked them;)

On a different note, I will hopefully be posting artwork for my next project this weekend. It's supposed to be announced at the NY con so keep a look out:) I have posted some teasers on the blog;)

Best,

Brett

Ummmm... I gotta say... I'm sure Stan Lee, Jim Lee, Bruce Lee, Chun Lee, Ug Lee, Home Lee, and any other lee's you wanna find would absolutely love your artwork... You are one of the best in the biz right now. Now everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think the general consensus would be that YOU FREAKIN ROCK. You are what other artist, including me, aspire to be. Keep up the good work. Rock on Demonpuppy!

What if I were... Leonardo DaVinci!

Yeah. I can see how that works. Most pro's on this site simply admit who they are. After all, there IS a bit of ego to be stroked, let's be honest here :D

Being all speculative falls flat on it's face because most of the people who do it are fools.

I'm fan #17. I agree that it is rather stupid to comment on something they hate. If you what to critique or maybe just voice an opinion fine but don't comment purely for the sake of attacking. 1/2 the internet drama could be averted if people simply walked away from stuff they didn't like.

Wow, a new brand of Tard has come to light.
Ignoring them is best. :)
I mean honestly, I have many of the comics you have drawn for, you don't get that much work because you suck.... I don't think you get any really. :|
